LESS THAN 70 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures show.
Data released by the government shows 67 cases were confirmed in Dorset in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Saturday November 28.
Of these cases, 40 were reported in the BCP Council area, taking the total number of confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic to 7,110.
In the seven days leading up to November 28, 477 cases were confirmed, giving an infection rate of 120.7 per 100,000 of the population.
In the Dorset Council area, 27 cases have been confirmed, taking the local authority’s total to 3,164 since the start of the pandemic.
In the week preceding Saturday November 28, 211 cases were reported, giving an infection rate of 55.7 per 100,000.
Elsewhere in Dorset, seven cases were recorded in the New Forest, taking the total to 1,806.
In the seven days leading up to November 28, 108 cases were confirmed, an infection rate of 60 per 100,000 people.
