A really short entry this week disappointing the usual and extra buyers in attendance

resulting in strong demand for those on offer. More prime cattle are required in the lead up

to Christmas. A super 568kg Limousin x heifer for 2C Farming of Carnhell Green standing top

selling at 227p/kg and £1,289 to David Wilton of Peter Morris Butchers, St. Columb. Top steer

at 198p/kg and £1,333 was a 673kg British Blue x from Messrs. R.J. & E.J. Hemmings of

Lanlivery bought by R.J. Trevarthen Ltd of Roskrow.

The largest entry for many weeks contained a considerable proportion of plain and lightweightsorts affecting the overall averages although buyers in attendance for the right framier

typesforfurtherfattening. With larger numbers of cull cows coming to the marketthroughout

the country the best trade is for the weightier fleshy sorts with least waste. Two Limousin

cross cows equal top at 129p/kg, with heavier 841kg cow from Messrs. T.A. & F.A. Jenkin of

Newbridge also overall top value in the beef section realising £1,085 to David Ellis of Lelant.

no shortage of demand for all types. Two Aberdeen Angus x steers from Mr. R.L. Northey of

Greenbottom around 2 years old topped at £1,230 and £1,115 (pictured). A nice pair of 20

month old Herefords from Olivia Edson of Pendeen made £1,025. South Devon crosses from

Messrs. W.L. House & Son of Quintrell Downs saw a 13 month old steer sell well in a pair at

£800 and 16 month old heifer making £785. A nice entry of 10 young heifers from Messrs. P.

& P.A. Williams of Ruan Minor saw Aberdeen Angus and South Devon crosses making £785

and a Limousin cross 13 month old heifer at £680.
