Hreod Burna Urban Forest has been recognised for the third year running by the Royal Horticultural Society and South West in Bloom.

The charity has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition in 2020, for its work looking after 19 acres of woodland connecting Pinehurst Road and Cricklade Road.

In a letter to all South West in Bloom groups Kay Clark, RHS community development manager said: “

We have been incredibly moved by your stories of courage, creativity and ingenuity in helping your wider communities.”

Steve Thompson, HBUF chair of trustees, said “We are very pleased of course to receive the award again. Had we not been in lockdown I would have escorted the judge around the woods and showed the new tree planting, that we carried out last winter. We were hoping to get an improvement award.”
