NEARLY 190 coronavirus cases have been recorded in Dorset over the last 24 hours, latest figures have revealed.

Data released by the government shows in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Sunday, November 15, 188 people tested positive for the virus in Dorset.

In the BCP Council area 124 new cases of coronavirus have been recorded taking the total for the council area to 5,800 cases since the start of the pandemic.

In the seven days prior to November 10, 926 people tested positive, giving a rolling infection rate of 234.2 per 100,000 of the population.

The Dorset Council area has seen 64 people test positive in the last 24 hours, taking the total to 2,915.

435 cases were confirmed in the seven days leading up to November 10, giving a rolling infection rate of 114.9.

Further afield in the New Forest, 46 people have tested positive for Covid-19, taking the total to 1,638.

In the seven days leading up to November 10, 221 cases were confirmed, a rolling rate of 122.7 per 100,000 people.
