A HORSE trapped in a Dorset river has been rescued by the fire brigade.
A fire engine and crew from Bridport Fire Station raced to the scene after being alerted to a horse stuck in the river at Pymore, near Bridport.
Upon arrival, crews found a horse trapped in the river and unable to traverse the under water hazards.

A spokesman for the brigade said: "Two crew members donned their water wading gear, entered the water and attached a line to the horse.
"After a few attempts they managed to manhandle the horse past the obstacles and guide it back to safety. A vet attended and checked the horse over, and it was found not to have any injuries."
