Five people have appeared before the crown court over a brawl that ended with a man being stabbed.
However, none of the five before Judge Jason Taylor QC at Swindon Crown Court on Friday are said to have stabbed the man during the fight in Mattocks Path, near the canal in East Wichel, in January.
Oliver Yates, 18, of Goldsborough Close, Eastleaze, Nicholas Battye, 18, of The Mall, Old Town, and a 17-year-old boy, who cannot be named as he is under 18, admitted affray. Yates also pleaded guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, a baseball bat.
Michael Harris, 43, and Tyrone Richards, 20, both of Yelland Walk, East Wichel, denied affray. Harris pleaded not guilty to possession of an offensive weapon, a baseball bat.
Judge Jason Taylor QC sent the 17-year-old’s case to the youth court, where he will appear for sentence on a date to be fixed.
Harris and Richards will stand trial on March 1, with the case expected to last two to three days.
All five were granted bail.
