A PATIENT with coronavirus has died in one of the Dorset conurbation's hospitals.

The latest update from NHS England confirmed that the patient died at an University Hospitals Dorset (UHD) Trust site on Wednesday, October 21.

Before the recent formation of UHD, coronavirus hospital deaths had been detailed separately for the now extinct Royal Bournemouth and Christchurch Hospitals Trust (RBCH) and Poole Hospital Trust.

The update from NHS England does not specify in which hospital the latest death occurred.

The total number of recorded deaths with coronavirus to date for UHD (two), RBCH (68) and Poole Hospital (55) stands at 125.

Nationally, a further 131 people, who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 31,558.

Patients were aged between 45 and 99 years old. All except two (aged between 77 and 91) had known underlying health conditions.

Eight of these deaths took place in the south west.
