A good entry containing a mixture of single-suckled and dairy cross types met with a similar strong trade as last week and with plenty of buyers in attendance.
Another super run of Limousin x cattle this week from Messrs. W.T. Bryant & Sons of St. Martin saw their seven standing top of steer averages to 219p/kg for a 705kg corker purchased by Chris Dale of Dales Family Butchers, Helston at £1,544.
Two heavier steers even dearer to £1,591 top to David King of Exeter and £1,585 to J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station; with the same buyers each going to 218p/kg for further choice steers from this farm.
Also at 218p/kg was the premium heifer, a 562kg Limousin x from Messrs. W.H. & L.M. Williams & Son of Allet purchased by Harvey Bros. Butchers of St. Ives, Penzance and Newlyn.
A big 681kg South Devon x from Messrs. P.R. & T. Eustice of Crantock stood top value heifer realising £1,423 to R.J. Trevarthen Ltd of Roskrow.

A wonderful entry in the Store Ring with super runs of young cattle and suckled calves.
The strong attendance of buyers and resulting trade confirming the excellent quality presented by numerous vendors.
Steers hit £1,065 for a British Blue x from Messrs. F.A. Pearce & Partners of Chacewater, who also topped the heifers with an Aberdeen Angus x at £955.
Suckled calves topped at £960 for a pair of 7-8 month old Limousin x steers winning Class 3 for Messrs. A.P. & S.R. Hooper of Castle-an-Dinas, St. Columb whose advertised entry of 50+ calves were a credit to them.
On the heifer side, Messrs. Hooper’s Blonde Aquitaine x calves stole the show winning both heifer classes with a 9 month old trio at £780 and 7 month old trio at £710.
Other superb entries included 30 steers on behalf of Messrs. J. & R.J. Nankervis off the cliffs in West Cornwall with best bunch of half a dozen 6-7 month old Simmental and Charolais crosses at £730.
Further Charolais crosses included a smart run of 21 same age calves from Mr. P.D. Hocking of Towednack with steers to £760 and heifers to £670.
