THE premises previously known as Roman Business Centre has been purchased by Gillingham Town Council, which will be used as the authority’s new workshop.
Using a loan of nearly £350,000, the acquisition of the property in Le Neubourg Way and the unification of the various council workshops onto one site has been described by the council as “an exciting opportunity for the future”, and it will support and improve the long-term provision of services to the expanding community of Gillingham.
Mayor of Gillingham Barry von Clemens said: “It is great to report that Gillingham Town Council continues to plan for the future with the purchase of new workshop facilities.
“This is a fabulous new asset for the town and will ensure that the council can continue to provide a high standard of service as the town grows.”
