A prize stag in Weymouth is in the sights of poachers, police are warning.
Dorset Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for anyone acting suspiciously near deer in the Overcome area.
This follows reports from residents that poachers may be targetting a prize stag.
A spokesperson for Dorset Police Rural Crime Team said: "Dorset Police have had concerns brought to our attention from residents of Weymouth that poachers may target a prize stag in the area of Overcome.
"Please be on the lookout and should you see anyone acting suspiciously near the deer or have further information about his matter please contact police."

People with information are asked to contact Dorset Police by calling 101, to send a report via email to 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or use the Dorset Police website dorset.police.uk/do-it-online.
If the crime is in progress (and this includes poaching), people should call 999.
