A ROUND-UP of cases from Salisbury Magistrates Court:

NIQUAN BENOIT, aged 22, of North Court, Warminster, pleaded guilty to a string of driving offences. On March 9 he drove a Vauxhall Astra in Solstice Park, Amesbury, while exceeding the legal alcohol limit, with 42 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. During this time he was disqualified from holding a driving licence and did not have the appropriate policy of insurance. Benoit was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £90 and was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 17 months. He must attend activities and appointments as instructed by the responsible officer, and he must complete 183 hours of unpaid work.

MICHAEL LITTLER, aged 44, of Rougemont Close, Salisbury, indicated a plea of guilty to stealing two watches to the value of £300 from Salisbury Antiques Market on July 20 last year. He was ordered to pay compensation of £250 and costs of £30.

PATRICIA KNOWLES, aged 57, of Earls Court Road, Amesbury, pleaded guilty to assaulting two women in Bulford on May 31. A restraining order has been imposed so Knowles cannot contact one of the victims involved. She was ordered to pay compensation of £250 and costs of £85.

JAMIE JEFFCOATE, aged 33, from Blackfriars Way, Salisbury, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating in Devizes on February 21. He indicated a plea of guilty to having a stanley blade on his person, and intending to cause a police sergeant distress through threatening words or behaviour. This offence was racially aggravated. Jeffcoate was fined £300 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £32 and costs of £135. A restraining order is also in place.

Heard at Swindon Magistrates:

SEBASTIAN SOBCZYNSKI, aged 21, of Blar Mhor Road, Fort William in Scotland, was found guilty of driving without due care and attention. On August 17 last year the defendant was driving a Volkswagen Crafter along the A303 in Winterbourne Stoke, when he made a right turn on the carriageway causing a crash with oncoming vehicles. A sentence was imposed on March 6 but the case was reopened last month. Sobczynski was fined £430 and was ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £43 and costs of £85. He was disqualified from holding a driving licence for six months.

BILLY STEELE, aged 22, of Herbert Road, Salisbury, was issued a domestic violence protection order. He cannot molest, directly contact or indirectly contact the associated person, and cannot enter an address in Old Sarum for 28 days.
