An excellent entry combined a good number of store cattle together with the first seasonal suckled calf sale with strong demand and a flying trade from a large attendance of buyers.
Overall top at £1,125 were a pair of 2yo Hereford x steers from Messrs. W.O. Brown & Son of St. Austell, yearlings from the same a good price at £845.
Further Hereford crosses from Messrs. J.A.H. Wood & Son Little Petherick saw steer trios at £1,080 and £1,020, their pair of heifers at £940 standing top, plus Friesian steers selling well at £930.
In the suckled calf section, prices rose to £850 for a bunch of five British Blue x Charolais steers from Messrs. W.F. Palmer & Son of Ruan High Lanes winning Class 3.
Next were good Limousin x steer calves 2020-born from Messrs. K. & C.D. Symons of Portscatho to £785 and £780 with their heifers winning Class 4.
A super run of sixteen Limousin x young calves from Mr. P.J. Williams of Stithians saw steers winning Class 1 at £755, and best half a dozen heifers at £655.

The well-finished lambs continue to attract most demand, selling to £98 for 49kg Texel lambs from Messrs. T.B. & M.B. Osborne of St. Eval to J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station.
A smart run of four pens of Charollais x lambs from Methleigh Farm Ltd of Porthleven saw their handyweights set the premium to 213p/kg, also bought by J.V. Richards Ltd.
Despite the easier trade, prices are still trading at 20p/kg above the equivalent week in 2019.
