A MAN in his 20s has been arrested following an incident of drunk and disorderly behaviour in Salisbury.

On Sunday, between 10.15pm and 10.30pm, two men that were stood outside Westacre Filling Station in Wilton Road had started asking a stranger for a lift, before appearing to make jokes about the motorist's mother and throwing beer cans at his car.

The driver then got out of his vehicle and apparently hit the more vocal of the two men, sending him backwards into a rack of fuels.

The second man was chased from the site, as the man that was struck went into the shop.

A video of the incident has been circulating on Twitter.

A spokesperson from Wiltshire Police said: "We can confirm we are aware of a video circulating on social media relating to a disturbance at Westacre Filling Station, Wilton Road, Salisbury, between around 10.15pm and 10.30pm on September 27.

"When officers arrived on scene, a man had made off from the scene in a Suzuki Swift.

"A man in his 20s from the Salisbury area has been arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place – he has since been issued with a fixed penalty notice. Enquiries are ongoing."
