Residents are being encouraged to have their say on West Bay and Lyme Regis harbours.

Following the creation of the unitary authority of Dorset Council, the harbours committee is looking ahead as to how West Bay, Lyme Regis and Weymouth harbours will develop over the next 10 years.

Dorset Coast Forum is leading this work on behalf of Dorset Council and wants your views and ideas to create a strategy that aligns all three harbours under Dorset Council management while recognising the individual challenges and opportunities of each harbour.

Recent virtual workshops were held this month for harbour users to discuss the current use, what works well, what doesn’t work well and any ideas of what they would like to see happen over the next 10 years.

The forum now wants to ask those same questions to anyone who wasn’t able to attend the workshops through a survey at dorsetcoasthaveyoursay.co.uk/dorset-harbours-strategy

The survey will be open until October 11.

Cllr Mark Roberts, chairman of the Dorset Council harbours committee, said: “It is vital that we talk to users of all three harbours and the wider community to understand what’s important to them and listen to their ideas. We’ll then start to develop a strategy using what we’ve heard. I look forward to hearing what everyone has to say.”
