A SPEEDING driver told police: 'I wish I had my dog with me as I don't speed when he's in the car'.
He was one of a number of motorists stopped by Dorset Police's No Excuse Team yesterday.
A spokesman for the team said: "In Winterbourne Whitechurch we stopped a driver doing 44mph in a 30 zone.
"He was late for a job interview.
"He also said: 'I wish I had my dog with me as I don't speed when he's in the car'.
"Words of advice given not to speed anytime and a fixed penalty.
"On the A350 Blandford a Range Rover was seized for no insurance or tax since March.
"The driver made his own way back to Poole, after being issued with a fixed penalty.
"On Longfleet Road, Poole, a Ford Focus was seized as the driver was driving otherwise than in accordance with his provisional licence and it also had a defective tyre."
