A HOUSING developer has exchanged contracts to purchase a site in Bridgwater with outline planning permission to deliver 260 new homes.

The site at Bower Farm will deliver a mixed tenure development including two, three and four-bedroom homes for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.

Keepmoat Homes say homebuyers will benefit from new public open space, play facilities and green infrastructure, as well as easy access to the town centre and the M5.

Keepmoat Homes expects to start construction on the site, currently a flower and strawberry growing business, in early 2021, with homes coming to market towards the end of 2021.

Dan Haines, regional managing director at Keepmoat Homes said: “We’re delighted to have exchanged contracts on Bower Farm.

"At Keepmoat, we’re committed to providing new homes that support first-time buyers, and this new development will provide a mix of homes designed specifically for that market as well as those looking to up-size.

“The acquisition is another positive step for our ambitious growth plans in Bridgwater, where we are already delivering new homes at The Parade development.

"The site forms part of our growth strategy in the South West, where we are currently searching for additional land for immediate delivery.”
