A COUPLE are the winners of a rainbow bench raffle which has raised more than £4,700 for Dorset County Hospital (DCH).

Kate Robinson and Chris Case, who live in West Dorset, are the lucky winners of the Sitting Spiritually raffle which was launched in July to raise money for the DCH Covid-19 appeal.

Kate, who entered the raffle in honour of Chris, a frontline worker at DCH, said: "We're thrilled to win this beautiful bench for our garden - it's like a dream. And, as many of our family work for the NHS, we know how valuable the donations that everyone made will be. At this difficult time for all of us, we've never been more grateful for our incredible NHS."

The bench features a rainbow design created using different types of wood, including oak, chestnut and walnut which have a natural variation in colour.

The raffle has raised £4,785.91 for the DCH Covid-19 appeal. Simon Pearson, head of charity at DCH, said: "We have been overwhelmed by the generosity of the community and the level of support we have received since we launched our DCH Covid-19 appeal in March.

"It’s also fitting that the winner works for the NHS and that they will be able to enjoy this beautiful bench for many years to come."
