A major rescue operation was launched after a paraglider crashed into a tree.
Rescuers said a man was paragliding in the Ringstead area east of Weymouth today when he crashed into a tree near a cliff and got stuck.
He was spotted by a member of the public who raised the alarm.
It prompted a major emergency response involving firefighters, coastguards, paramedics and the police.
Two fire engines from Weymouth Fire Station and a crew from Poole Fire Station were called at 11.32am.
The paraglider was freed from the tree using ropes after being stuck for more than 90 minutes.
He was checked over by paramedics and had no injuries.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service station manager, Graham Kewley, said: "We would advise members of the public to take care and properly plan for outdoor pursuits because these types of incidents can attract a significant emergency response which takes us away from our other duties."
