A horse needed a dramatic rescue after it got stuck in a water-filled ditch in Yatton, North Somerset, on Tuesday (September 1).
Crews from Yatton and Bedminster fire stations were called to Kenn Moor Road to help the poor animal.
On arrival, they found that the ditch was filled with water.

Police closed the road and, using a harness and strops, together with lifting equipment lent by a local farmer, the fire crews managed to lift the horse out of the ditch to safety.
A vet then checked the horse over.
