A DOG that is believed to be of a banned breed has been seized by police as part of an ongoing investigation.
Officers from Dorset Police's rural crime team, Purbeck neighbourhood policing team, dog units, the force support group, the national wildlife crime unit and the RSPCA executed a court warrant on Friday at a farm in south Dorset.
This action was part of enquiries into reports of animal fighting, a banned breed of dog and poaching.

A Dorset Police spokeswoman said: "As part of an ongoing investigation into a suspected dangerous dog, animal fighting and poaching at a farm in the south Dorset area, officers carried out a warrant under the Animal Welfare Act 2996 and the Dangerous Dog Act 1991 on Friday, August 21.
"A suspected banned breed of dog was located and seized.
"The investigation remains underway and enquiries are ongoing."
Dorset Police would not provide a more specific location than south Dorset for the execution of warrant.
