Seven more people have tested positive for coronavirus in the last 24 hours, official figures show.
It brings the total number of confirmed covid cases in Swindon to 1,078. The town’s infection rate stands at 485.2 cases per 100,000 people – only slightly lower than England’s average rate of 487.2 cases per 100,000 people.
There has been no change to the number of deaths at Great Western Hospital of patients who tested positive for coronavirus.
It has been around 40 days since a GWH patient died from the virus, NHS England figures show. The death toll at the Swindon hospital remains 125.
Swindon remains an area of concern for the government. On Friday it again featured on Public Health England’s coronavirus watchlist.
The borough council has launched a campaign calling on all Swindon residents to play their part in combatting the virus.
