A BUTCHER has won FOUR gold awards for his sensational sausages.

Chris Potter, director of Tim Potter Butchers, picked up the Taste of the West accolades for his traditional Somerset beef burger, country pork sausage, fruity curry sausage and the Wellington Somerset pork sausage - all of which are made for the family butchers in Wellington.

“I am absolutely over the moon to have been awarded four gold awards on my first entry of this particular competition,” said Chris.

“This is great recognition of the hard work we put into creating our delicious range of sausages and burgers, all made fresh daily by me and the team in the shop from locally sourced, top-quality pork and beef.”

Tim Potter, company director, added: “I am very pleased Chris has won gold and proud that he has done so well.”

The Taste of the West Awards are the largest regional food and drink awards who help promote and support food and drink producers in the West Country.

A winner for each category will soon be chosen by Taste of the West judges and an overall champion announced.

John Sheaves, chief executive of Taste of the West, said: “This year we are particularly pleased that given the difficulties the sector has faced with the Covid-19 crisis, the level of innovation in product development has been higher than usual.”

If you would like to try the winning products, the Somerset beef burger is on offer for £1.50 and the sausages are £2.90 for six or two trays of six for £5.
