THE Kings Arms at Monkton Farleigh reopened on Monday August 7 with a new management team in charge.

The 17th century Cotswold pub is now being managed by Marcos Cefein, 56, his wife Liz, 53, and their daughter Dione, 30, assisted by bar staff Chris Rosser and Gillian Marsh.

Today (Friday), they will be joined by Richard Tuplin, a one star Michelin chef who has worked at The Beachfield in Swindon and the Rising Sun at Christian Malford.

Mr Cefein is a former director of St Hilaria Hotels Ltd, which ran The Bear Hotel in Chippenham.

He says: "I have known the Kings Arms for a along time. It just needs some tender loving care.

"Managing this pub and hotel is going to be a marathon, not a sprint."

The Kings Arms has reopened following the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown.

The pub is listed in Wiltshire's Haunted Pubs & Inns as one of the most haunted in the county, with an elderly medieval monk and a distressed Victorian lady among its ghosts.

Last year, Punch Taverns closed the pub for six weeks from January 13 for a £300,000 investment.

The works included a full internal redecoration with new furnishings throughout.
