Firefighters raced to the scene of a car fire at a Weymouth petrol station today.
The incident happened at the BP garage on Dorchester Road this afternoon.
An eyewitness reported seeing smoke coming from the car, and that a fire extinguisher was used.
She said: "It all happened very quickly - the car was smoking and the horn was going off continuously.
"I was with my daughter so I was just trying to get out of the garage quickly and so was everybody else.
"It could have been quite dangerous - especially as there was a petrol tanker there too."
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed they were called to the scene of a car fire on Dorchester Road at the Wild Bean Cafe (on the garage forecourt) at 12.03pm.
A spokesman said: "On arrival crews confirmed the fire was already out, so one hose reel was used for damping down."
No-one was injured as a result of the incident, the fire service said.
