QUEEN’S College has welcomed the new headteacher of its junior school.
Henry Matthews has taken over from Tracey Khodabandehloo who retired at the end of the summer term after ten successful years as headmistress.
Mr Matthews said: “It's fantastic to have arrived at Queen's and being here in such glorious weather really does show what a special place this is.
“I am very excited to begin my role and can't wait to welcome everyone back to school, even if this will be from a distance to start with!
“I have received such a warm welcome from everyone I have met and am thrilled to be joining such a brilliant team.”
Mr Matthews was previously headteacher of St Joseph’s School in Launceston, Cornwall, where he started his teaching career in 2012.
He became deputy head three years later and was appointed as head in 2018.
Mr Matthews will also oversee the Pre-Prep, Nursery School and Highgrove Nursery when the children return next month.
