A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following a stabbing outside a Poole school last week.

Police were called to the incident in Adastral Road outside Magna Academy at 6.11am on Friday, August 7.

The victim, a local man aged in his 30s, sustained injuries to his head and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Police say his condition is not described as serious.

A cordon was put in place outside the school and in Warburton Road to Ashdown Close to allow for investigators to examine the scene.

Dorset Police said: “Following further enquiries, a 40-year-old man from Poole was arrested on suspicion of attempt murder and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.”

A 29-year-old woman previously arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

“I would like to renew my appeal for anyone who witnessed what happened or any passing motorists who may have captured relevant dashcam footage to please get in touch.”
