A VEHICLE was badly damaged after it accidentally caught fire late last night.
Firefighters attended the incident in Tangier Way, Taunton, at 11.30pm.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "The firefighters promptly got to work extinguishing the vehicle using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera and small tools.
"This was confirmed as an accidental ignition."
He added that people should ensure their vehicle is serviced/maintained regularly as failure to do so could result in a fire within the engine compartment.
He said if your car catches fire, get out, stay out and call 999.
