Fire services were called out to a standing crops fire yesterday evening (Tuesday, August 4) in Hod Drive, Stourpaine.
A spokesperson from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue said: "At 19.05, fire control received calls to a fire involving standing crops.
"An area of approximately 200 metres by 150 metres was involved.
"Crews from Blandford (two pumps and a landrover), Poole (water carrier), Sturminster Newton (off road appliance) and Shaftesbury (off road appliance) were mobilised and the first crews in attendance were able to extinguish the fire using five hose reel jets and beaters.
"This allowed Shaftesbury and Poole crews to be stood down and made available for further fire calls."
