A road has been closed after two people were found dead in a car parked at Durlston Country Park.

Police were called by the fire service at just after 8am this morning, after two people were found unresponsive in a car parked at Durlston County Park on Lighthouse Road, Swanage.

Lighthouse Road has been blocked by police and people are being asked to please avoid the area.

Police and the ambulance service attended but very sadly, the bodies of a man and a woman were found inside the vehicle.

A Dorset Police spokesman said: "Enquiries are underway to identify the individuals, establish the circumstances of the deaths and inform their next of kin. The coroner has been informed."
