Police say that a 30-year-old cyclist from Chippenham is still fighting for his life in hospital following a crash with a milk tanker.
He received a life threatening head injury in the collision on the A350 near The Plough crossroads at 12.35am on Monday.
A police spokesman said: "The man was riding a Carrera pedal cycle along the A350 towards Chippenham when he was involved in a collision with the driver of a Renault Artic milk tanker travelling in the same direction.
"The cyclist was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol with a life threatening head injury.
"The driver of the milk tanker was not injured ."
Today the spokesman added that the cyclist's condition had not changed.

The road was closed this morning for six hours while the collision investigators attended the scene and the incident was cleared.
The police spokesman said: "We’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision, including anyone who may have been driving in the area with a dash cam fitted to their vehicle.
"Call 101 and quote log number 6 of July 6, 2020."
