Today's figures from NHS England show that no further people have died in the county's hospitals after recording a positive test result for Covid-19, or in the south west region as a whole.

It means that the total number of deaths recorded at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust sits at 65, with the total for the Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust remaining at 26, giving a total of 91 for Cornwall following a rise of one on Thursday.

It marked the first new hospital death in exactly a month in the county.

However, the NHS England figures only cover deaths in hospitals and the most recent figures for deaths in all settings in Cornwall – hospitals, care homes and the wider community – from the Office for National Statistics was 203.
