POLICE are looking into reports of shootings of "a large number" of badgers and deer in Somerset.
Officers from Avon and Somerset's rural affairs team are investigating the incidents in the Bleadney area, near Wells.
A force spokesman said enquiries are being undertaken "into shootings of a large number of badgers and deer".
He appealed for witnesses to the "illegal shooting of wildlife".
