A FARMER and father went the extra mile to help his son with a school project by carving a heart into his crops.
Seven-year-old Henry Nutland had to do homework themed around love which involved making a heart.
But instead of reaching for the scissors and craft paper, he came up with a bigger and better idea.
His dad Oliver Nutland, of Stable View Farm in Royal Wootton Bassett, said: “It’s quite impressive but only took 10 minutes to make freehanded with a tractor and rake through the field.
“Henry loved it had thought it was really great, we stopped for a bit while making hay to quickly create the heart. It’s quite exciting to see it get such a reaction online.”
The love symbol did not stay visible long before the rest of the crops were harvested but a drone camera captured a snap of it before it disappeared.
The 100m x 70m cut-out caught the eye of other farming communities when it was shared on Facebook and received 1,500 likes.
His wife Kate added: “The field had to be cut that day anyway so this was just a bit of fun. Henry and his teachers were very pleased.”
