INSPIRED by the 'Spirit of Portland' - and the memory of her mum - Chloe Griffiths was in the right time at the right place to capture this stunning sunset shot.

Ms Griffiths, 26, saw the sunset beaming through a loop of rope on the iconic Spirit of Portland statue, and described the snap as 'a happy accident'.

"I was on my way to work when I saw it - anything beautiful I see, I have to take a shot," she said.

Chloe - a support worker with vulnerable adults - spoke of the heartbreaking, yet inspirational motivation behind her photography hobby. Her mum Amanda passed away four years ago aged just 40, but strong Chloe has managed to turn the tragedy into something positive. Since her loss, she has discovered she inherited her mum's creative gene and is now using her talent to help others.

"It really makes me happy doing stuff like this," she said. "My mum passed away of alcoholism four years ago, but she was really creative and it's inspired me to start making things out of drift wood, just like she did.

"I have also been making things with the vulnerable adults I work with - we collect driftwood, make frames and paint pebbles together - it's helping make them happy, too.

"Now my mum is my beautiful angel - her ashes are in my workshop, so she's always there creating with me."
