CORNWALL'S coronavirus death toll in hospitals has remained static for the third day in a row.

Friday's NHS England figures show that the total remains at 90, with 64 deaths at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust and 26 at hospitals run by Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The NHS England totals only cover deaths in hospitals, with the Office for National Statistics - which also includes care homes and deaths in the wider community - putting the overall figure at a minimum of 192 earlier this week.

Across England, a further 123 people who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 27,282.

Patients were aged between 38 and 105 years old. Of those one, aged 86, had no known underlying health condition, NHS England said.

Their families have been informed.

In the south west as a whole there were four new deaths registered.

To date there have been 578 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, a rise of only three since a week previous.
