Prince Charles’s Duchy of Cornwall is selling a former church in Penzance at auction.

The former St Paul’s Church in Clarence Street has a freehold guide price of £50,000.

It is among the lots in the fourth auction of 2020 by the regional land and property auctioneers Clive Emson on Wednesday, June 17, which is being held solely online.

Senior Auction Appraiser David Henwood said: “This is an incredibly rare opportunity to acquire a character church in a prominent location in Penzance.

“The property may suite a range of schemes, not least an eye-catching Grand Designs style home subject to all of the necessary consents.”

Being sold on behalf of the Duchy of Cornwall, it is being auctioned jointly with Vickery Holman Property Consultants of Truro.

There will be 83 lots in total, which also include a plot to the north of Potters Meadow, St James Terrace off Kernick Road, Penryn, which has outline planning consent for a two-storey detached property with parking and garden and has a freehold guide price of £135,000 to £165,000.
