A bizarre attempt to disguise a car at Studland was rumbled by police because they smelt the breakfast being cooked by the occupants.

Fires and barbecues are banned in the protected area but police and other agencies have discovered many people breaking the rules in recent days.

Yesterday morning they spotted this car, partially covered by camouflage material, in Ferry Road.

"A busy morning down in Studland. We found an innovative vehicle disguise on Ferry Road today. It wasn’t the camouflage that made us stop, but the stove cooking breakfast that we could smell whilst driving by" said a spokesman for Purbeck Police.
