Police are appealing for information and CCTV footage following the discovery of a “suspicious” device in Penryn yesterday, believed to be an improvised explosive.
Officers were called at around 11.10am after an item was found at the back door of Penryn Masonic Lodge in New Street.
A 20-metre cordon was put in place while police made door-to-door enquiries and a Royal Navy Explosive Ordnance team attended and made the device, believed to be an improvised incendiary device, safe.
A police spokesperson said: “Police are appealing to anyone who may have CCTV footage in the area of New Street and the B3292 to get in touch.”
Anyone who has information that could help the ongoing investigation is asked to contact police on 101 or via email on 101@dc.police.uk, quoting crime reference CR/043871/20.
