Bridport’s rugby club has been given permission for two shelters at the leisure centre in Skilling Hill Road.
They include lean-on fencing with space for advertising and an illuminated scoreboard.
Planning officers say the lean on fencing is proposed to stay in place all year round but the sport shelters and scoreboard will only stay on the site during the rugby season which lasts for about six months.
The proposed scoreboard will be no taller than 3m with the board itself being approximately 1.5m high and 2m in width.
Both Bridport Town Council and Symondsbury Parish Council supported the application.
