THE number of deaths in Cornish hospitals due to coronavirus has remained static for a further day.
Tuesday's NHS England figures show that the total has stayed at 86, where it has been since last Monday, May 18.
Of the total, 60 deaths have taken place at the Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust and 26 at hospitals run by Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
The latest Office for National Statistics total, which covers loss of life in all settings, including care homes, hospitals and private residences, now stands at 190.
The update, published today, is a rise from last week of 16.
Across England, a further 116 people who tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 25,866.
Patients were aged between 50 and 100 years old. Of those, one, aged 71, had no known underlying health condition, NHS England said.
Their families have been informed.
In the south west as a whole, six new deaths have been recorded.
There have been 573 confirmed coronavirus cases in Cornwall to date, a figure that has not risen since Monday.
