FOUR teenagers arrested in relation to a vicious robbery in Bridgwater have been released on conditional bail as investigations continue.
A shocking video which showed a man, named locally as Karol Machnowski, on the floor being kicked and spat by a group of teenagers was widely circulated online.
A 17-year-old female, a 17-year-old boy and two 16-year-old boys were arrested following the incident on Monday night, and a fifth person was identified in connection with the incident yesterday afternoon (Wednesday, May 13).
In an update today, DCI Kerry Paterson said: "A fifth person is due to voluntarily attend a police interview later today as part of our ongoing investigation into the incident in Bridgwater earlier this week.
"We appreciate the sensitive nature of this particular incident and can reassure the public we are conducting a thorough investigation into what happened on Monday night.
"Officers are continuing to review footage of the incident, speak to concerned individuals and conduct other enquiries so as to obtain a full understanding of what occurred before a decision on any charges is reached.
"The four people arrested on suspicion of robbery have been released on conditional bail while we complete that investigatory work.
"We continue to ask anyone with information that could be of assistance to our investigation to call 101, or report it online, giving reference number 5220/103361."
