Top price of the day was a Friesian cow from Mr. P.J. Harvey of Kea weighing 803kg at 130p/kg she realised £1,044 to Dawn West Devon of Hatherleigh.

The few beef cows forward were led by a South Devon x from Mr. T.G. Hawke of Colan selling at 129p/kg and £1,024 to the same buyer.

A similar entry of store cattle to recent weeks met a very firm trade although there were mainly younger types forward.

Demand continues firm for all on offer.

Top price steer at £870 was a 17mo British Blue x from Mr. R.T. Dunn of Menabilly.

Smart younger sorts included Limousin x yearling steers all at £810 for four from Mr. G.T. Stone of Carleen and four from Mr. R. Rowe of Penhallow who also sold heifers to £690.

An entry of even younger steers and heifers from Mr. W.H.A. Hicks of Maenporth saw British Blue x steers to £730 and Charolais x heifers to £630.

Overall top heifer was a British Blue x at £745 for Mr. J. Penhaligon of Portscatho who sold five further Herefords at £740.
