THREE more deaths from Covid-19 have been confirmed in Cornwall this afternoon.

The daily update on figures from NHS England shows two more people lost their lives on Friday and one on Saturday, bringing the county's total to 24.

There are now 187 confirmed cases in Cornwall, up 38 from 149 yesterday.

Across England, a further 555 people who tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 4,494.

Of the 555, patients were aged between 33 years and 103 years old. NHS England said that 29 of them – aged between 35 and 95 years old – had no known underlying health condition.

Their families have been informed.

A total of 36 new deaths were confirmed across the south west as a whole.
