FINISHED & STORE SHEEP

NEW SEASON LAMBS (56) – Ed Harris

This week’s trade was a “fall from grace” with prices taking a severe nosedive at centres throughout the country since Monday.

Close communication with vendors ensured that nobody was under any false expectations after the trade of recent weeks.

The depressed prices have largely been caused by the hard knock to the export trade, and obviously coupled with the profound impact of outlets on lockdown.

A leading average of 212p/kg for a penful of 10 lambs from Mr. B. Lugg of Cury Cross Lanes bought by R.J. Trevarthen Ltd of Roskrow.

Lambs selling to a top price of £86.50 for Mr. D.J. Lobb of Little Polgooth purchased by J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station.

We are very conscious of the depressed sheep trade and trying times, particularly ahead of what is scheduled to be our Easter Market next Wednesday.

At this stage we intend to be operating next week, subject to Government guidelines. Notice of entries at this time is ESSENTIAL – Entries by text/phone to Ed Harris 07977 662443 or Ross Collins 07966589188.
