A BUTCHER at a Chiseldon farm has been crowned Apprentice Butcher of the Year writes Daniel Angelini.
Harry Ward began working at Three Trees Farm shop 18 months ago as he completed his AS Levels at college.
He completed his apprenticeship in December and was the first person from the training provider MEAT Ipswich to complete a level two apprenticeship with complete excellence in all areas.
Three Trees Farm's head butcher James Davies said: “Harry’s passion for meat and butchery was clear from the very first day and he has always been eager to learn more about the trade.
"This is a big achievement for him. We are very proud of how hard he worked to gain his apprenticeship. Now he has completed it, he will be staying with us as a full-time qualified butcher."
Stuart Davis at MEAT Ipswich assessed Harry's skills and presented him with the award. He said: "Harry’s success came from lots of hard work and his practical excellence is supported by his dedication to the theory element of the butchery trade within his apprenticeship."
