A 45-year-old man has been charged with murder following a serious assault in Liskeard cattle market car park on Sunday January 26.
Carl Smythe, aged 45, of Varley Lane, Liskeard, has been charged with the murder of 20-year-old Damien Bendelow, who was formally identified yesterday.
Smythe is also charged with four counts of common assault.
Smythe has been remanded in police custody and is due to appear at Truro Magistrates Court today (Tuesday January 28).
Senior investigating officer, Inspector Steve Hambly said: “The family of Damien are at this time are not ready to issue a tribute, and have asked that they are given the space they need to come to terms with their loss."
