Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a respectable Christmas entry saw a flying trade rewarding all the Vendors who supported the sale. Buyers in attendance from Cornwall to Wiltshire and Bath. Vendors from Glamorgan.
Top of the day £1900 from R Taylor. Other heifers to £1880 R & M Lougher & Son, Bridgend, Wales; £1820 FG Summerhayes & Sons for a “Ciderhouse” heifer; £1800 and £1740 from Ham Farm Partners; £1770 Cilfeithy Farm Services of Carmarthen; £1740 for a Jersey crossbred heifer from TL & DAR Thomas of Llanelli, Carmarthen; £1710 and £1630 from R Hammett, Swansea.

Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a reasonable entry for the Christmas market saw a number of buyers around the ring. The trade for the lower end looked the trade of the day. The day topped at £315 for a young Blue bull from CJ & JA Reed, same Vendor sold to £275 and £270. Other Blues £280 from AJ Scott & Son and £260 from RJ & JM Dobson. Charolais to £250 and £240 from SM & DM Turner. Simmentals to £222 from FH & PJ Bailey. Limousins to £130 from A Pratt.
Heifers to £212 and £190 for Blues from CJ & JA Reed. Other Blues £160 from MC Powell and £150 from A Pratt. Charolais to £175 (2x) and £140 from SM & DM Turner. Simmentals to PT Bale & Sons and Limousins to £72 from MC Powell.
Natives to £215 for an Angus from SC Eavis. Others £110 from CG, GR & MS Spiller. Herefords to £140 from University Of Bristol. Native heifers to £112 from CG, GR & MS Spiller and Herefords to £50 from University Of Bristol.

Store Lambs (371)
A much reduced, seasonal entry of 371 store lambs sold to a very strong trade. Top price of £90 from MW Ford. Other best types to £88 from D Tippetts; £87.50 from J Sibley; £83.50 from Vigar & Son; £74 from FJ Hayes & Sons; £72 from P Athay; £71.50 and £71 from D Tippetts. Overall average £67.80.
Cull Ewes & Rams (1143)
A surprisingly large entry of 1143 cull ewes and rams sold to an even dearer trade. Shapely continental ewes continue to meet exceedingly strong interest and sold to £172 from EW Quick & Son, who sold others at £158. Other best types to £140, £125, £121 and £119 from Devon Farming Ltd; £117 from EW Quick & Son; £114 from TK Farms and Mules sold to £101.50 from D Hutchings. Cull rams sold to £106 from TK Marsh. Others to £95 from H Morgan. Medium ewes £60-£80. Plain £35-£55. Boners generally £25 plus. Overall average £69.88, which would have been significantly higher if it was not for the large proportion of Shetland and hill ewes forward.
Couples (13 Ewes & 19 Lambs)
A tight entry of 13 ewes and 19 lambs sold to an equally strong trade. Doubles to £185 (£61.67/life) from H Morgan. Singles to £136 (£68/life) from the same Vendor. 2 ewes with 5 lambs to £186 (£53.14/life) from Crossways Farm. Overall average £57.19/life.
Goats (33)
A reasonable entry of 33 goats sold well to £92 from RG, AJ & JA Habberfield. Others to £80 from the same Vendor. Smaller types to £62 from A Taylor. Overall average £81.74.
