A driver was rescued by a farmer after being stuck in their car due to flooding, writes Alex Cutler.
Several roads across Dorset have flooded, including the country lane that links the villages of Stour Provost and Fifehead Magdalen.
PC Matt Weldon was at the scene, where he said that a driver was rescued by a farmer.
He said: "Don't drive into fast flowing and deep flood water. Thankfully there's always a helpful farmer."
Due to the heavy rain, many other roads across the county have also been flooded:
A35 Dorchester Bypass - reports of flooding near A352. Delays on approach eastbound - queue starts before the football ground roundabout.
Dorchester - A354 between Monkton Hill and the football ground roundabout - reports of flooding.
A37 Dorchester - between A352 (Charminster) and Stratton - reports of flooding.
A35 Dorchester between Stinsford Roundabout the dual-carriageway - reports of flooding.
A Travel Dorset spokesman said: "With a forecast for heavy and persistent rain, we're on standby to resolve drainage and flooding problems.
"To report any weather issues likely to cause an immediate danger to road users call 01305 221020.
