A light entry of prime cattle which is not unusual at this time of year. Trade continued firm for mainly commercial type cattle and limited butchers’ types forward. Top price per kilo was 193p for a Limousin x heifer from Mr. R.E. Richards of St. Keverne purchased by J.V. Richards Ltd of Perranwell Station. Top value came for another Limousin x heifer weighing 721kg for Messrs. A.J. & S.T. Richards of St. Keverne and realising £1,298 to David Ellis of Lelant.

A large number of store cattle for the run up to Christmas with mainly younger stock forward. Trade remained firm throughout with plenty of demand around the ring. An entry of super South Devon steers around 20 months old for Mr. C. Eustice of Cubert saw top trio at £940. Three strong Charolais steers around 16 months old for Mr. R.J. Geach of Padstow realised £930 with his three heifers slightly younger at £760. A striking pair of Limousin x steers at just 11 month old from Messrs. H. Gwennap & Son of Leedstown sold away to £900. A bunch of five young South Devon steer calves from Heather Rogers of Carbis Bay, which included three end of April born, realised £700. Heifers topped at £850 for a 19 month old Hereford x pair from Mr. A. Perry of Tregony. A nice run of 11 suckler-bred Aberdeen Angus named-sire 9/10 month old heifers from Messrs. B.J. Tregoning & Son of Wendron sold to £575.
