Greenslade Taylor Hunt report a medium entry of 81 prime cattle met a cracking trade, dearer again leading to Christmas.

Top was 197.5ppk for a shapely, leaner red Limousin steer from J & S Vinnicombe & Son, Ottery St Mary, who also sold a good Angus steer at 183ppk. Barley Blue steer at 185ppk from SER Hunt, Kilve. Limousin cross Shorthorn at 182ppk from JR & EA Roberts, Westonzoyland. Feeding Blues at 179.5 and 178ppk from FG, C & E Tucker, Wedmore. Further native steers at 178.5ppk for a Hereford from TE Pocock & Co, Stringston. Further Herefords 177 and 174ppk EV Tranmer & Sons, Claverham. Steers sold to £1,322.10 from W Johnson & Son for a grand 780kg dairy bred Limousin.

Heifers sold to £1,310.48 for a Charolais from RC Loveridge & Son, Sector Lane, who sold another at £1,296.25ppk.

Sucklers sold to £1,053.75 for a Limousin from P & G Ford, who sold another at £1,049.10. Herefords at £1,012.88 and £925.40 from Hanchard Farming, Cheddar and £978.57 from Ponsillo & Son, who sold an Angus at £960.08.

Dairy bred culls to 119.5ppk for a Friesian from MD & KRJ Boley, Highbridge.
